Remembering Whitney Houston: 20 Moments in Time

On Saturday, February 11, 2012 at approximately 3:55 PM, the world tragically lost one of the greatest vocal talents who has ever walked this earth. Enjoying a record-setting career spanning over two decades, Whitney Elizabeth Houston possessed unequivocally one of the purest singing voices that has ever graced the Billboard charts – a voice equal parts pop sensibility and urban Gospel soul. Her storied and, in the end, turbulent career by now recounted innumerable times, let us remember Whitney Houston not for her tragic personal turmoils and ensuing fall from grace, but for her tremendous vocal talents, leaving us with a treasure trove of sonic riches that will transcend time.

Accordingly, the process of narrowing down – and then ranking – this top twenty remembrance list of Houston’s best offerings was quite the arduous process, as the artist’s discography offers numerous other riches that unfortunately could not make the cut. To listen to these selections – along with the twenty ranking songs listed below – please subscribe and listen to the Best of Whitney Houston Playlist, curated by yours truly, on Spotify.
